Under minimal direction and supervision, this self-directed leadership position manages the daily activities in the office of the Director, Health Information Management (HIM), Edmonton Zone and Central Zone. Position requirements include. Providing competent and knowledgeable, advanced level professional administrative/secretarial support to the Director and team. Acting as a coordinator for the Director and is directly responsible for complex calendar management, receiving, reviewing, and triaging all incoming correspondence, mail, information, and inquiries of a routine and confidential nature; organizes, prioritizes, and responds or forwards as appropriate. Develops an appropriate tracking and follow up system for inquiries pending response, preparing agendas, minutes, proposals, correspondence, reports, presentations, and various other documents of a confidential or sensitive nature for multiple audiences, including senior executives. Applying intermediate and/or advanced computer skills to support this work. Proofreading all documentation for accuracy prior to distribution. Demonstrating the ability to organize, prioritize and apply critical thinking and sound judgement to assist the Director in achieving required outcomes Maintaining HIM Edmonton and Central Zone operational electronic files in alignment with the AHS retention schedule. Performing other duties as required. As an Administrative Support V, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. certificate in office or business administration).

Accurate typing speed of 60 wpm. As part of the selection process, candidates will be required to pass a typing test to advance in the recruitment process to the interview. Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel and Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio).

Two years related experience in a healthcare office setting. In addition, the incumbent will be expected to demonstrate proficiency in the following areas: Verbal and written English communication skills.
