If you are a Medical Office Assistant with advanced administrative skills and knowledge with the ability to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives throughout surgical departments and programs this may be the opportunity for you! Reporting directly to the Clinical Supervisor for the Division of Cardiology AMHSP (Academic Medicine and Health Services Program) in the Edmonton Health Corridor, this position provides administrative support to divisional members. Working with a team of administrative support staff in a fast-paced environment, you will be responsible for answering telephones, arranging and coordinating patient clinics, and diagnostic testing. As this position serves as a liaison between patients, physicians and other support services, the incumbent must be able to work independently with minimal supervision, exhibit excellent communication and organizational skills while demonstrating initiative, flexibility and confidentiality.

As an Administrative Support IV, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Some post-secondary education.

Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar position. Completion of a relevant certificate, degree, or training program (such as a Unit Clerk program or Medical Office Assistant program). Proficiency with general computer programs (such as Word, Outlook, and Excel). Experience with the Connect Care informatics system (ideally with roles including schegistrar, medical office assistant, referrals coordinator, and template builder). Strong multi-tasking ability. Experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced, time-sensitive organization. The ability to sit and complete computer work for extended periods of time.

Experience in an ambulatory clinic setting. Experience processing referrals.
