Working with minimal guidance and direction, the Scheduling Liaison works collaboratively with the scheduling department, utilizing substantial skills to coordinate the staffing and scheduling needs of the clinical area. This work requires extensive knowledge of collective agreements, scheduling and staffing processes, and unit specific needs. The role is responsible to carry out duties efficiently and effectively and assist with improving practices to enhance service. The scheduling liaison problem solves issues and uses discretion to escalate to management as required. The scheduling liaison also provides administrative support to unit management across a range of duties.

As an Administrative Support IV, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Some post-secondary education.

Post-secondary education required (e.g. certificate in office or business administration). A combination of progressive experience and education may be considered. Previous experience as a staffing Liaison of 3-5 years minimum with experience in high stress, highly demanding and multi-tasking work environment including experience with scheduling and payroll systems. Computer skills including Microsoft office applications. Working knowledge of e-people, RMS and WFM. Experience with AHS staff scheduling software. Working knowledge of collective agreements including scheduling provisions of unions within the departments. Working knowledge of position and rotation management. Self-directed and able to work under minimal supervision with frequent interruptions, shifting priorities, and tight deadlines. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills. Ability to problem solve, think critically and make effective decisions. Demonstrated consistent attention to detail, time management and organizational skills.

At least 1 year experience as a staffing liaison, unit specific operational knowledge, and medical terminology preferred.
