This position provides a wide variety of moderately complex administrative duties in support of professional staff, clients, and the Stollery Pediatric Cardiology Program. We are looking for a dynamic, highly skilled, detail and quality-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment. This is an exciting role and opportunity if you are looking to be part of a high performing team, dedicated to providing excellence in pediatric cardiac care. The position requires an experienced individual with excellent interpersonal, telephone, and organizational skills along with Medical Secretarial background. The incumbent must be able to work effectively in a busy, multitasking environment that includes supporting and coordinating a weekly surgical conference for patients referred for Cardiac care into the Stollery cardio-surgical program (from across Western Canada), responding to and triaging patient and family calls, providing support and coordination for Physicians clinical duties (including but not limited to - calendar management, arranging family meetings and appointments, taking minutes and transcription, and other clinical administrative duties as required. Recognizes the value of and works with a Patient and Family Centered Care philosophy, while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. Will be expected as required to cross train to other areas within the clinic and the Stollery Children’s Hospital to support safe patient care.

As an Administrative Support IV, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Some post-secondary education.

Previous experience working with Physicians. 3 - 5 years’ experience in a busy clinical/office environment. Post-secondary education - Medical office administration or Secretarial certificate required. Excellent time and task management skills required, including the ability to deal with multiple interruptions. Self-direction, adaptability and flexibility are required while working in a fast paced, multi-faceted environment. Requires the ability to work independently and effectively in an interdisciplinary setting and maintain a high degree of confidentiality. Detail-oriented and ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines in a timely manner required. Proven reliability and dependability required. Extended periods of sitting, standing and walking required.

Knowledge of hospital systems. Medical Terminology. Previous experience working within Cardiology programs preferred.
