Assisted Living Alberta is dedicated to Enhancing Care in the Community, helping people be healthy, well and independent in their homes and communities. Edmonton Zone Continuing Care provides services through five main program areas: Home Living, Supportive Living, Facility Living, Transition Services and Palliative Care. Facility and Supportive Living have an immediate opening for an Administrative Support IV. Working with a diverse team of individuals in a fast-paced environment, the successful candidate will play a vital role in assisting and supporting, achieving and maintaining effective and efficient operations. Duties include, but are not limited to verifying schedules, liaising with other teams (e.g. Accounts Payable), processing Added Care support, data entry into a variety of information systems, collecting and organizing information for confidential reports, communicating with internal and external stakeholders, filing, answering the switchboard, handling agendas and minutes for meetings, managing supplies, and assisting with other department processes. The successful candidate will have the ability to establish priorities, proactively identify problems and issues of concern, and initiate problem resolutions. Roles and duties include: Sitting for extended periods. Listing office/medical supplies and equipment weighing up to 30 lbs. Using repetitive motions. Lifting, bending, reaching, and standing for prolonged periods.

As an Administrative Support IV, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Some post-secondary education.

At the time of interview, you are required to demonstrate your computer knowledge and proficiency by completing a hands-on assessment. You must demonstrate sufficient typing speed to meet workload demand and navigate through various computer programs including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), Visio, Outlook and Internet. Minimum of 3 years clerical experience, preferably in a health-related environment. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must demonstrate excellent organizational and decision-making skills with the ability to work independently and prioritize effectively. Excellent time management skills. Ability to take initiative and handle a variety of assignments with attention to detail. Excellent aptitude for interpersonal relations combined with an ability to interact with senior management and other team members in a professional and confident manner. An excellent attendance record, reliability, and personal suitability must be demonstrated through your employment record or references. Physical demands of the job include Sitting for extended periods, listing office/medical supplies and equipment weighing up to 30 lbs., using repetitive motions, lifting, bending, reaching, and standing for prolonged periods.

Familiarity with the Continuing Care programs, including Facility and Supportive Living. Familiarity with ALA policies and procedures.
