For more information https://www.albertahealthservices.ca/cc/Page15339.aspx Edmonton Zone Continuing Care provides services through five main program areas: Home Living, Supportive Living, Facility Living, Transition Services and Palliative Care. Continuing Care has an immediate opening for an Administrative Support IV. Working with diverse teams in a fast-paced environment, the successful candidate will play a vital role in assisting and supporting, achieving and maintaining effective & efficient operations. Working under minimal guidance and direction, will utilize their enhanced skills to respond to financial inquiries, process transactions, and resolve invoice discrepancies based on applicable processes, procedures, & guidelines, Scheduling Personnel (ESP) application to complete complex and often urgent staff scheduling tasks within short timelines in a busy, high pressure office environment. Duties include, but are not limited to verification of invoices, liaising with Accounts Payable, providing Added Care support to management, data entry into a variety of information systems, collecting and organizing information for confidential reports, communicating with internal & external stakeholders, filing, photocopying, faxing, & assisting with other department processes, as required. The successful candidate will have the ability to establish priorities, proactively identify problems and issues of concern, & initiate problem resolutions. Roles & duties include: Sitting for extended periods. Listing office/medical supplies & equipment weighing up to 30 lbs. Using repetitive motions Lifting, bending, reaching, & standing for prolonged periods.
As an Administrative Support IV, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.
Some post-secondary education.
Minimum of 1 year experience working with Workforce ESP Scheduler is required. At the time of interview, you may be required to demonstrate your computer knowledge and proficiency by completing a hands-on assessment. You must demonstrate sufficient typing speed to meet workload demand and navigate through various computer programs including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), Visio, Outlook and Internet. Minimum of 3 years secretarial experience preferably in a health-related environment. A combination of education and experience will be considered. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must demonstrate excellent organizational and decision-making skills with the ability to work independently and prioritize effectively. Excellent time management skills. Ability to take initiative and handle a variety of assignments with attention to detail. Excellent aptitude for interpersonal relations combined with an ability to interact with senior management and other team members in a professional and efficient manner. Physical demands of the job include Sitting for extended periods, listing office/medical supplies and equipment weighing up to 30 lbs., using repetitive motions, lifting, bending, reaching, and standing for prolonged periods.
Preference may be given to candidates that have a finance or accounting designation. Familiarity with the Continuing Care program. Familiarity with AHS policies and procedures. 2 to 3 years related health care experience in scheduling and coordinating. Minimum of 1 year experience applying terms and conditions of the various Collective Agreements.
