Description
Reporting to the Unit Manager of the Pediatric Cardiology Clinic at the Stollery Children’s Hospital, this position provides a wide variety of moderately complex administrative duties in support of professional staff, clients, and the Stollery Pediatric Cardiology Program. The position requires an experienced individual with excellent interpersonal, telephone and organizational skills along with Medical Secretarial background. The incumbent must be able to work effectively in a busy multitasking environment that includes managing physician calendars, arranging meetings, supporting a weekly surgical conference, taking minutes and transcription, booking interviews, filing, managing multiple schedules for the Pediatric Cardiology Department and other administrative duties as required. As an Administrative Support IV, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.
Some post-secondary education.
Applicants must have 3-5 years’ experience in healthcare or a busy office/clinical setting, with knowledge of hospital systems (Connect Care, Netcare, eClinician, WCCHN) required. Strong typing skills (65-75 wpm), intermediate MS Office/Outlook proficiency, and excellent time, task, and organizational management are essential. Must excel in multitasking, collaboration, and phone communication, and support physician scheduling and admin tasks. Post-secondary education with a Medical Office Assistant or Office Administration certificate/diploma is required. Candidates must demonstrate self-direction, adaptability, confidentiality, and reliability, with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks. Physical demands include bending, lifting, and extended periods of sitting/standing. Commitment to Patient and Family Centered Care and all AHS policies is required.
