Description
Do you have experience in administrative roles, a dedication to patient care and the ability to work in a dynamic environment? This position is part of a team responsible for providing administrative support to the Colorectal Cancer Screening Program. This program is a constant, high-volume environment dedicated to patient referral processing, scheduling patient procedures and ensuring communication flow with appropriate physician clinics. The successful applicant must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Work is patient & family focused which always mandates an elevated level of professionalism and confidentiality - adherence to POPA and ATIA Legislation is essential. The incumbent must be fluent in Connect Care and be able to perform quick and accurate data entry, scheduling appointments, create and format documents and successfully prioritize workload to ensure tasks are completed within specific timelines.
As an Administrative Support III, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
Recent experience in SCOPE or other programs using Connect Care is required including relevant experience in managing referrals, scheduling patient appointments and completing documentation in electronic patient medical records. In this fast-paced environment, multi-tasking, and the ability to work independently and be an engaged team member with a strong customer focus is an expectation of this role. In addition, proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is necessary. To ensure success in this role, candidates must be professional, have attention to detail and possess excellent written, organizational and communication skills as well as adaptability to continuous change.
Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred, along with experience transcribing orders and managing work queues within Connect Care. Preference to candidates who have existing Connect Care roles: Schegistrar with Referrals, Lumens Front Desk Scheduler, Referrals Coordinator, Endoscopy Scheduler or Surgical Office Assistant.
