Reporting to the Director, Risk Modelling and Portfolio Optimization, we are currently seeking a Senior Analyst to join the team and contribute to the development of portfolio optimization tools and models, as well as to the continuous improvement of risk modeling methodologies. They will also participate in the implementation of quantitative solutions aimed at enhancing portfolio construction, diversification, and performance across the firm.

This is a hybrid position requiring at least 4 days per week at our office in downtown Montreal.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Play a key role in the development and evolution of portfolio optimization models, contributing to the design of innovative quantitative approaches that support investment decision-making.
  • Conduct in-depth analyses of portfolio positioning, sensitivities, and sources of risk, and provide actionable recommendations to improve portfolio efficiency and robustness.
  • Design, develop, and maintain advanced analytical tools to enhance portfolio construction, risk measurement, and strategic consistency across mandates.
  • Actively contributes to the ongoing improvement of internal risk models, including their calibration and integration into optimization processes.
  • Work closely with portfolio management, trading, technology, and operations teams to ensure effective and consistent implementation of developed tools and models.
  • Promote quantitative best practices within the team and contribute to the continuous evolution of portfolio analysis methodologies across the firm.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field, Master’s degree preferred
  • CFA, CAIA, FRM, PRM and/or actuarial professional designation, an asset
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant industry experience, specific role/title will depend on experience level
  • Strong programming skills (Python, Matlab, R, C++, SQL, Java, etc.) and experience with Excel/VBA
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Rigorous, disciplined and well organized
  • Excellent team player, yet autonomous and dynamic work style
  • Desire to keep up with the latest developments in portfolio optimization and quantitative research
  • Bilingual (spoken/written) French and English, essential
