About Us
The Shoreline Power Group is a fully integrated Joint Venture of Aecon and AtkinsRealis located in Kincardine, Ontario. Shoreline Power Group is the centerpiece of the Major Component Replacement (MCR) program which replaces the main components of 6 reactors at the Bruce Power Nuclear Generating Station. The scope of work includes the removal and replacement of calandria tubes, pressure tubes, and feeders as well as construction management and trade labor. This project is part of Bruce Powers Life Extension Program, which will allow Bruce Powers CANDU units to continue to operate safely through to 2064.
The Onboarding/HR Co-op Student reports to the Onboarding Manager and will be responsible for participating in an effective hiring and on-boarding process for new employees on the project, ensuring a good candidate and new hire experience.
What You'll Do Here
- Assemble welcome packages, including items such as lanyard cards, hard hats, name tags, and training plans
- Schedule and organize orientation sessions for new employees
- Arrange and manage onboarding training sessions
- Assess the onboarding experience to identify areas for improvement
- Set up for orientation and provide support on orientation day
- Develop and maintain training rosters for new hires
- Scan and manage new hire documents, maintaining accurate employee records
- Schedule meetings, book rooms, and assist with the organization of company events and employee programs
- Assist with job postings and scheduling interviews
- Pull data from HR systems and generate reports
- Revise and update training materials for instructors
- Contact trades regarding attendance and schedule changes
- Assist with the coordination and support of CBT (Computer-Based Training) days
- Provide coverage for the reception area as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
What You Bring To The Team
- Currently enrolled in post-secondary school education with a focus in Business, Human Resources or Administration
- Minimum 3.0GPA preferred
- Experience in an office environment, preferably in a human resource and or training role
- Knowledge of office methods, process & procedures, equipment and filing systems
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Problem solving, planning and organizational skills, ability to prioritize tasks, work to timelines
- Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written.
- Extremely detail oriented
