Job Description

ARE YOU READY to step up and take your technology expertise to the next level?

There is never a typical day at Accenture, but that’s exactly why we love it here. This is an extraordinary opportunity to begin a rewarding career at Accenture Technology. Immersed in a digitally compassionate and innovation-led environment, you will help top clients shift to the New using leading-edge technologies on some of the most groundbreaking projects imaginable.

Cloud First - Software Development is a high-performing team to join. We focus on client adoption of disruptive technologies, technology architecture, and providing specialized skills related to integration, custom software engineering, testing, application modernization, agile delivery, and more. We help our clients solve their most complex challenges, including work across open web platforms, DevOps platforms, and intelligent computing and architectural enhancements.

YOU ARE:

You are a Full Stack Developer Specialist with strong experience building and delivering modern, cloud-native solutions. You bring deep technical expertise in Java-based microservices and Angular, a solid understanding of distributed systems, and the ability to work across the application stack when needed.

As a Full Stack Developer Specialist, you are comfortable owning application components or workstreams, contributing to technical design decisions, and applying engineering best practices across the software development lifecycle. You collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and thrive in agile delivery environments.

THE WORK:

As a member of Accenture’s Software Development and Application Development practices, you will design, build, and deliver scalable, high-quality applications for clients across industries.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java and microservices-based architectures

  • Build scalable, secure, and high-performing RESTful APIs

  • Contribute to frontend development activities as required, including UI integration, API consumption, and defect resolution

  • Develop and deploy applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) using cloud-native design principles

  • Work with containerized applications and Kubernetes for deployment, configuration, and runtime operations

  • Participate in solution and cloud architecture discussions, with a focus on scalability, resiliency, and performance

  • Build, maintain, and enhance Azure DevOps (ADO) CI/CD pipelines

  • Collaborate closely with DevOps, QA, and architecture teams to ensure reliable and repeatable releases

  • Apply best practices related to code quality, security, observability, and documentation

  • Support production issues and contribute to root cause analysis and continuous improvement

  • Actively participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to a collaborative, outcome-driven team culture

Qualification

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in application or software development

  • Strong hands-on experience with front-end development concepts (Angular); framework-agnostic exposure is acceptable

  • Strong hands-on experience with Java and microservices-based application design

  • Experience building and consuming REST APIs and backend integration patterns

  • Solid understanding of application performance, scalability, and security

  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

  • Experience working with Kubernetes, including deployments and runtime concepts

  • Experience with Azure DevOps (ADO), including source control, work items, and CI/CD pipeline creation and maintenance

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced agile delivery environments

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills

  • This role requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the office. Preferred location: Montreal, Quebec

  • English is required for this position as this role will be aligned to multi-national teams where English is the common language across our North America Market. Due to the significant high volume of interactions with these English-speaking multi-national teams, which is inherent to this position, it is not possible to reorganize the company's activities to avoid this requirement.

BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE:

  • Experience with Firebase, Firestore, or Cloud Functions

  • Exposure to monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Dynatrace, SIEM, logging, and alerting platforms)

  • Experience supporting production environments and operational readiness activities

  • Familiarity with SRE or reliability-focused practices

  • Experience modernizing legacy applications or contributing to DevOps transformations

  • Experience providing technical guidance or mentorship consistent with senior specialist expectations
