Quality of hire is widely acknowledged as the ultimate hiring metric, yet it is rarely defined with precision. When it is measured, it often appears months after decisions were made, long after insights could influence the process. The delay turns quality into a post-mortem rather than a steering mechanism.
Performance reviews, retention data, and manager satisfaction provide valuable signals, but they are backward-looking. They explain outcomes without illuminating which funnel stages contributed to success or failure.
