Sr. Oracle Database Administrator to work with PostgreSQL for large insurance client - 5011

Duration: 6 months (possibility of extension)

Location: Remote (Toronto, Waterloo or Montreal)

The candidate will be a member of the Oracle practice within Data Management Services (DMS). The primary role for this position will be as an Oracle Database Administrator supporting Canadian and US requirements with current versions of Oracle Database.

Must Have Skills:

• 5+ years of Oracle database administration working with Oracle 12c and 19c hosted on Unix and Linux platforms.
• Experience working with PostgreSQL version 9+ and above hosted on Linux or AWS cloud-based platforms.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL server, AWS RDS, Mongo DB and Redshift

Nice To Have Skills:

• Insurance/Finance industry experience

Job Responsibilities:

• Administrative support of Oracle 12c and 19c and PostgreSQL, and AWS RDS database instances including many of the sub-components.
• Advanced performance tuning expertise, including specifics related to partitioning, indexing , storage optimization, and memory management.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation and procedures for all supported database related platforms.
• Infrastructure support of Oracle including server/instance installs (stand-alone and clustered), service-pack upgrades, hot fixes, client tool installs, readiness programs, new feature exploitation, research, and development (as needed by Infrastructure manager).
• Work with other Database Administrators or Developers in defining requirements.
• Working on ways to automate and improve infrastructure as code release processes.
• Support Oracle Advanced Security features such as TDE.
• Performance analysis, monitoring, troubleshooting and resolution of issues.
• Manage regular reviews of database vulnerability scan and remediation of open vulnerabilities.
