(Regular) Trades Worker (Locksmith/Purchasing) - 12 month per year basis - 40 hrs/week

This position is due to a leave. When the employee returns to the district, the awardee will revert to their former position.

Should the incumbent retire or resign (in writing) from the district, the current holder of the position will own the position from that date forward.

All awarded applicants will be required to join the CUPE Local 748 Union.

Note: A Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check will be required from successful applicants, with a review every five (5) years.

Job Summary:

An employee who does skilled work under the direction of the General Operations Foreman or designate.

Job Requirements:

1. Possess a valid BC Class 5 Driver's License.

2. Have at least a number of years experience in a given trade and/or training equal to an apprenticeship required for the given trade, or a training program from a recognized post secondary organization or technical school required for that given trade, or in the opinion of Management has demonstrated ability to perform skilled work in the given trade.

3. Minimum Grade 10 education.

4. Ability to work and provide services with minimal supervision.

5. Ability to take direction and suggestions from supervisor or designate.

6. Ability to follow oral and/or written instructions.

7. Must have understanding and knowledge of safe work practices.

8. Ability to use and care for the equipment required.

9. Perform other job related duties as may be assigned.

Job Conditions:

1. Work is physically demanding.

2. Work can be in undesirable conditions dependent on weather and location (i.e. crawl spaces)

3. Steel-toed safety footwear is required as per Clause 10.13 - Boot Allowance of the current collective agreement.
