What is the opportunity?

Are you interested in the opportunity to work as a Communications Associate at RBC? By applying to this job posting, you will be considered for this role available in RBC Group Risk Management Process Excellence Team

What will you do?

  • design and configure the communications hub for the Process Excellence/Lean Six Sigma (PE/LSS) community across RBC
  • conduct independent research to acquire knowledge of working with RBC Connect
  • use creativity skills to maximize interest and participation in the community via the communications hub
  • improve Connect site graphics - appearance, appeal and user friendliness
  • liaise with other OR/COO, RBC PE Connect page resources for design tips & techniques
  • assist development and hosting of a proposed PE Community of Practice Forum event
  • assist planning/design/logistics and coordination of contributor submissions to Process Excellence Forum event
  • consolidate, update PE/LSS reference materials residing in-house on social media (RBC Connect) site
  • develop innovative promotional activity in support of increased community activity
  • manage logistics of regular communication with PE/LSS community members
  • author & present management/team updates regarding PE/LSS communications and Communications Associate role
  • distribute training & informational material to LP training candidates
  • acquire process excellence skills by participating in Lean Practitioner (LP) training
  • complete min. 1 assigned process improvement project, achieving measurable NIE reduction benefit

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Currently enrolled at a Canadian post-secondary institution with a focus on communication
  • Leadership acumen and a passion to apply it in a dynamic business environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and highly developed communication skills (verbal, written and graphic)
  • Creative thinker and task planner who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast paced environment
  • Experience or understanding social network communication
  • Ability to conduct internal/external research on social network communication, process excellence
  • Strong MS Office skills Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint, including graphics

Nice-to-have

  • Experience creating web-based graphics to supplement content
  • Knowledge of design, development, and implementation of social network communications
  • Ability to learn and absorb new concepts (in business and in systems) quickly and apply new knowledge

Please note:This posting is for a 4-months Fall 2024 Student placement with a start date of September 2024, and end date of December 2024. In order to be eligible for this 4-months Student position, you must either:

  • Be returning back to school after the work term end-date of December 2024 ; or
  • If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating in December 2024), you must require the full 4-months work term as a mandatory component to in order to graduate successfully.
