QUALIFICATIONS
* This position covers both Neepawa and Russell Health Centre's
* Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or equivalent undergraduate pharmacy degree
* Eligible for and maintains licensure to practice as a pharmacist in the province of Manitoba
* Province of Manitoba Class 5 Drivers Licence, or equivalent from province of residence, and access to a personal vehicle to provide service within Prairie Mountain Health
* Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint), as well as Internet applications and other Information Technology


POSITION SUMMARY

The Manager Pharmacy shall be accountable to the Director Pharmacy and is responsible for the development, coordination, implementation, evaluation and operation of Pharmacy Services within Prairie Mountain Health.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Overview

  1. Responsible for the safe administration and operation of Pharmacy Services throughout Prairie Mountain Health.
  2. Monitors appropriate financial, human resources, equipment and environmental issues of Pharmacy Services within Prairie Mountain Health.
  3. Oversees the development of policies and procedures related to Pharmacy Services.
  4. Instrumental in the planning and development of a sustainable program.
  5. Participates in portfolio/facility/regional team structure.
  6. Responsible for ensuring compliance of Workplace Safety and Health, Infection Prevention and Control, Hand Hygiene, Regional Policies and other educational requirements for all staff under their supervision.
  7. Develops and maintains functional relationships with other departments/programs.
  8. Plans for continued professional development of staff and self.
  9. Promotes positive public relations.
  10. Operationalizes Prairie Mountain Healths Vision, Mission and Values statements.
  11. Promotes the quality dimensions of access, safety, effectiveness and satisfaction in the provision of Prairie Mountain Healths services.
  12. Maintains their clinical knowledge and practice skills at the minimum level required of staff pharmacists practicing within the same clinical practice specialty.
