Summary:

Reporting to the Clinical Manager/Director, iCBT, this position offers therapist-guided cognitive behavioural therapy (iCBT) to a varied clientele in a digital platform. You will have the unique opportunity to guide clients through programming specifically designed to support Indigenous community. These programs take a holistic, traditional treatment approach specifically intertwined with core CBT strategies and skills, and consist of videos, educational content, and exercises. You will complete a telephonic or video assessment with your clients at the start of the program with some counselling support, and will monitor their progress through the modules, providing clinically tailored feedback to the client.

Responsibilities: 

• Providing therapeutic interventions to clients through telephonic, video, and digital communication. 

• Completing comprehensive assessments with clients to understand their health concerns and the factors that support or inhibit recovery;   

• Assess risk and severity with the use of assessment tools; 

• Provide any of the following interventions if required: 
  o    More in-depth assessment;
  o    Referral to psychological and / or occupational therapy organizations / services;
  o    Crisis support and stabilization;

• Provide quality clinical services and case management protocols;

• Adhere to our culture of continuous improvement of skills;

• Attend team meetings and occasional trainings.

Qualifications and skills required:

• Master's degree in Social Work;

• Registration with your provincial College of Social Workers;

• Minimum of two (2) years post-graduate counselling experience in a mental health setting, with at least 1 year experience working with indigenous peoples in a clinical setting;

• Experience delivering CBT through any modality (e.g. virtual, in person);

• Experience providing therapy to adults struggling with clinical mood disorders;

• Aptitude to manage crisis or high-risk situations (suicidal or homicidal thoughts, domestic violence, child protection, public protection);

• Experience working with trauma and addiction is an asset;

• Capacity to evaluate any addiction and co-morbid conditions is an asset;

• Acute sense of autonomy, professionalism, and respect for ethical principles;

• Excellent written and verbal communication as well as empathy, listening, interpersonal and organizational skills;

• Computer skills (Over the phone and web-based video-conferencing);

• Reliable high-speed internet is required.
