Senior Software Technical Analyst

Job Description

Manulife is seeking a Senior level, technology driven professional to lead IT Security initiatives for our Global Wealth and Assessment Management (GWAM IT) - System and Platform Services team. The role will support Projects and Technology Operations focused on Vulnerability Management, End of Life Software and OS Security (Windows/Linux).

The incumbent will develop and execute strategies that ensure industry leading IT Security controls are proactively implemented.

Accountabilities will include being the key point of contact for Global IT Security Projects, Data Integrations and Reporting requests.  You will perform relationship management across GWAM IT, Global Information Risk Management, Global Information Security and External Partners.

The successful applicant can expect to be involved with project planning, requirements gathering, IT security data analysis, operational reporting, preparing management metrics, and attending senior leadership meetings.  The ability to lead, influence and motivate technical staff without direct reporting relationships is critical.  Having previous experience leading Cyber Security or DevSecOps projects involving on-shore, near-shore, and off-shore resources is favorable.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all day-to-day aspects of the GWAM Vulnerability, End of Life Software and OS Hardening program

  • Review, assign and track IT Security initiatives to completion

  • Lead efforts to provide critical data and reports related to Vulnerability Management

  • Develop proactive strategies for IT Vulnerabilities and Platform Security Controls

  • Communicate with audiences of various levels, including preparing status updates and KPI reports

  • Organize and participate in senior leadership meetings

  • Build and maintain relationships across a diverse global technology organization

  • Lead and coach team members to drive a High-Performance culture

  • Recommend and lead continuous improvements focused on automation and sharing data on IT Security threats         

  • Keep abreast of current IT security standards, technologies, approaches, and methodologies     

    Qualifications / Requirements

  • University Degree - Business or STEM program preferred

  • 3+ years of IT Operations and/or Technical Project Management Experience

  • Web, Cloud and Platform Security Knowledge

  • Previous data analytics and reporting experience using PowerBI or similar tools

  • Capable of leading geographically dispersed teams

  • Excellent written and oral communications

  • Understands the critically and sense of urgency required for IT Security services

  • Action oriented, proactive thinker with decision making and delegation capabilities

  • Strong ability to plan, influence and negotiate delivery dates with technical teams

  • Calm under pressure, flexible, dependable, inquisitive, adaptive and able to work independently

  • Understands large complex IT matrices, structures, team cultures, cooperation & information sharing 

    Desired Industry Knowledge

  • Security scanning tools for Infrastructure, Applications and Code

  • Cloud Services such as Microsoft Azure or AWS

  • Windows and Linux Systems Administration

  • Agile/Scrum Tools such as Jira

  • DevSecOps for scanning, monitoring and threat reporting       

  • MIS and BI Reporting - Microsoft PowerBI preferred

  • Qualys Vulnerability Management

  • ITIL and ServiceNow
