Our client is looking for a Senior Instructional Designer with strong training and OCM experience to develop e-learning and multimedia material for IT projects


This role requires you to be onsite 3 days/week at Edmonton office and travel occasionally within Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer etc.


Must Haves:

  • 7+ years' experience as a Instructional Designer, specialized in developing training materials within IT
  • Strong technical writing, multimedia (VIDEO) development, and instructional design skills
  • Knowledge of learning theories and adult learning principles
  • Experience in Articulate Rise, Camtasia (video editing),SharePoint, PowerPoint
  • Prior experience using Cornerstone (or equivalent LMS)


Nice to have:

  • Experience with ArcFM Web application


Responsibilities:

  • Support in the development of a training plan for each Project under the Projects
  • Develop a training approach that outlines the process by which learning needs, learning content, and delivery will be identified and executed• Define training needs for internal audiences, utilizing detailed stakeholder impact analysis to inform training requirements
  • Define instructional strategies and design course curriculums
  • Work with change team and business representatives to establish instructional design and style/format standards to promote quality, consistency, and speed of delivery
  • Support Train-the-Trainer model by identifying, mobilizing and supporting trainers throughout the project
  • Develop instructor and end user training materials, including user guides, job aids, demonstrating videos, etc.
  • Work with the technical teams to confirm the training environment and data requirements are satisfied
  • Support all training logistics to ensure the organization is ready for training delivery
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the training program with end users
  • Support in the delivery of refresher training to those unable to attend training and/orthose requiring a second round of training
  • Create new and/or update training materials as required post go live
  • Provide post go-live support to end users through the hyper-care process as required
