DLCI is the Canadian Army (CA) Capability Manager for Command Support. The directorate’s mission is to lead command support development and management in order to support the operational effectiveness of Army commanders at all levels. Command Support has doctrinally been divided into the two enabling activities of Information Management (IM) and Systems Management (SM).

Two major components of Information Management are ensuring compliance with the Government of Canada (GoC) Recordkeeping (RK) directive and ensuring the CA is prepared for the migration to GCDOCS. To meet these objectives the CA will be implementing a Faceted Information Classification System (FICS) which will increase control and findability of CA records and will ensure the alignment of our Information Architecture with the DND Enterprise IA (GCDOCS).

The implementation of FICS throughout the CA will require a deliberate effort involving careful planning of time and resources in coordination with all CA Divisions. As such, DLCI requires a Senior Project Manager (Level 3) for the implementation of FICS across the CA.

  • Project documentation (Project Charters, Project Implementation Plans, Project Master Schedule, etc);
  • Briefing Notes, reports, presentations (written & verbal); and
  • Position papers, policy statements, directives (subject to review, approval and release by the TA);
