Description
Location: Hamilton, ON
Work Model: 2 Days Onsite Mandatory (Tues/Weds)
Hours: 35/Week
Contract: 4-5 Months + Extension
Role: Encryption / Cryptography Expert
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and standardize encryption and cryptography protocols across the organization.
- Review and recommend tools for encryption, ensuring best practices and avoiding unsupported or risky solutions.
- Support deployment and configuration of encryption tools, including Microsoft solutions.
- Provide guidance on encryption standards for both east-west network traffic and north-south traffic (data in motion vs. data at rest).
- Collaborate with IT, security teams, and stakeholders to ensure consistent application of cryptography protocols city-wide.
Must-Haves:
- Deep understanding of encryption algorithms, protocols, and cryptography standards.
- Experience implementing and managing encryption tools and technologies.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft security/encryption solutions.
Plusses:
- Prior experience standardizing cryptography protocols in large or public sector environments.
- Understanding of network traffic flows and distinctions between east-west and north-south traffic in security context.
