The primary function of the Facility Service Associate (FSA) is to ensure the cleanliness of all store areas such as bathrooms, break rooms, water fountains, and hallways. The FSA is expected to perform preventative maintenance on all store equipment, and orders and installs parts needed for repair. This includes coordinating with contractors to fix facilities and equipment. The FSA is also responsible for performing customer service while on the sales floor. The FSA examines areas outside of the store including fences, sprinklers, and parking lots for items that need be fixed or removed. This includes checking the garden center for any water leaks and inspecting lamps and displays on sales floors. The FSA is also expected to maintain a safe and secure work environment by complying with company policies and procedures for merchandising, housekeeping, safety, and monitoring for potential theft or security risks. Lastly, the FSA is responsible for completing all other duties as assigned. Requires morning, afternoon, and evening availability any day of the week. Required to work a schedule as determined by sales, customer, and business needs, but may be changed by store management based on the needs of the store. Requests to be scheduled off for a specific day require advanced notification and approval by supervisor. Hourly Full Time, Part Time or Seasonal: Generally scheduled 40, 24 to 30, or 0 to 40 hours per week respectively; more hours may be required based on the needs of the store. This position reports to an Assistant Store Manager and takes daily direction from a Department Manager. This position does not have direct reports.
Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction).
6 months facility maintenance experience including preventative maintenance and repair on facility systems and equipment (e.g. changing cutting blades, light bulbs, filters).
6 months janitorial/grounds keeping experience.
6 months customer service experience.
Lifts up to 40 pounds without assistance.
The Facility Service Associate may be required to perform job activities, with appropriate intermittent relief where applicable, under difficult work conditions such as in extreme cold, heat, inclement weather, at heights, while exposed to constant/intermittent sounds (if applicable).
