Solution Designer

in Halifax, N.S. reporting to the Vice President of IT for the Halifax Shipyard.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree with a focus in computer science andsoftware engineering or equivalent

  • Experience with information technology systems in a shipbuilding or manufacturing environment, including analysis, design and build experience

  • TOGAF Certified

  • Years of Experience Required:

    • 10+ years of experience working in enterprise architecture/solution design in a diverse,enterprise IT environment

  • Experience in creating design documents for solutions

  • Experience providing leadership inplanning andestimating

  • Experience in multiple domains required to provide the right solution

  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment

Key Responsibilities:


  • Provide leadership in assessing business needs and presenting solutions

  • Selection of technology solutions for our companies ensuring they meet the objectives of the business

  • Ensure the solutions designed are aligned with the enterprise architecture standards and guidelines

  • Provide Current State, Transition State, and Future State artifacts for designed solutions

  • Participate in the development of enabling strategies

  • Ensure thatall solutions designed are done in accordance withenterprise security standards

  • Working collaboratively with the enterprise architecture team in creating strategies for key enabling areas
