We’re hiring a Tax Manager / Senior Tax Manager for a well-established accounting firm in Vancouver. This is an excellent opportunity for a designated CPA with strong Canadian tax expertise to take on a leadership role reviewing complex returns, managing client relationships, and shaping the firm’s tax practice.

The firm provides a full range of assurance, accounting, and tax services to private companies, professionals, and high-net-worth individuals across a wide variety of industries. About the Opportunity
This role is ideal for an experienced CPA who enjoys technical tax work and wants to play a key role in leading and reviewing the firm’s corporate and personal tax engagements. The successful candidate will work closely with partners and staff, provide tax planning and compliance advice, and act as the primary reviewer for T1 and T2 files. There is strong potential for long-term career progression within the firm for the right individual.

About the Position
Reporting directly to the Partners, responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing complex T1 and T2 tax returns for private companies and individuals
  • Managing a diverse portfolio of clients and providing day-to-day tax advisory support
  • Conducting tax research and identifying planning opportunities
  • Liaising with the CRA on client matters and managing related communications
  • Supervising, training, and reviewing work prepared by junior tax staff
  • Collaborating with partners to deliver high-quality client service and ensure compliance standards are met

The Requirements

  • CPA designation (required)
  • 5+ years of public practice experience with a focus on Canadian tax
  • Strong technical knowledge in corporate and personal tax
  • Proven experience reviewing tax files and managing client relationships
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of client engagements

Nice to Have:

  • Completion or progress in the CPA In-Depth Tax Program
  • Experience with tax planning for private corporations and high-net-worth individuals

Compensation

  • Base salary between $90,000 - $140,000, commensurate with experience
  • Discretionary bonus (historically 10-20%)
