Description
Red Deer Regional Health Centre has an exciting opportunity for a Social Worker II in their very busy Adult Psychiatry Unit! The Social Worker II provides a range of generalist social worker services to patients and their families within the established standards, directives, and policies for the work environment. These services may include psychosocial assessment, resource-based interventions, risk screening, counseling, case management and coordination, transition planning, prevention and promotion and public awareness activities. The position also involves consultation and collaboration with interprofessional team members and community agencies and requires the ability to work independently with occasional review, consultation and evaluation from the manager. The incumbent must be able to work independently with a high degree of judgement and must be able to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team and commit to strengthening team dynamics by actively interprofessional collaboration to enhance patient health outcomes. Red Deer is located in Central Alberta near the midpoint of the Calgary-Edmonton Corridor and is surrounded by Red Deer County. It is Alberta's third-most-populous city - after Calgary and Edmonton with just over 100,000 citizens. The Red Deer area has one of the fastest growing economies in North America and is consistently ranked as a prime location for doing business. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. As a Social Worker II, you will be a member of an inter-disciplinary team and provides a range of social work services to patients and their families. Your services may include: psychosocial assessment, resource-based interventions, individual, group and family treatment, risk screening, counselling, case management and coordination, transition or discharge planning, and prevention, promotion and public awareness activities.
Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).
Previous experience working in Mental Health and Addictions.
Acute care experience as Social Worker.
