Description
As a member of the Decision Support Team (DST), the Clinical Informatics (CI) Assistant works closely with DST team members, and clinical and administrative staff and managers of Calgary and area Recovery Alberta (RA) services. The CI Assistant will also liaise with other departments across the other health care organizations (e.g. Information Technology, Health Information Management). The CI Assistant is responsible for a wide range of tasks in support of clinical informatics directly related to Connect Care (CC) use in Calgary area RA services. The successful candidate should possess a strong working knowledge of CC across the various modules (e.g. ASAP, inpatient, ambulatory) and should be open to ongoing learning as CC is upgraded and optimized. Success in the role is highly dependent on the incumbent having very good attention to detail, being a self-starter, and being extremely conscientious with respect to quality of work. While project work is largely assigned and supervised by the CI Analysts, this position reports directly to the DST Manager. Key responsibilities include: Providing user-support and training to Calgary area RA staff and managers. Maintain system documentation, including CC Tip Sheets. Participating in the development of data standards and data auditing procedures to support the maintenance of quality CC data. Assist with the development of in-system CC reports for the purpose of supporting operational and clinical practice. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. As a Research Assistant I, you will primarily focus on supporting research projects. Duties may include collecting and managing data, conducting literature searches, assisting with dissemination of research findings, and maintaining research project files. You will use your knowledge and skills to contribute to maintaining high quality data with the philosophy and standards of AHS.
Completion of post-secondary diploma; or degree in a health or science related field; or Certification as a Clinical Research Associate through the Society of Clinical Research Associates (SOCRA).
Proficiency in various modules of Connect Care (e.g. ASAP, inpatient, ambulatory). Ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Experience training both individuals and small and large groups. Personable, and able to provide a high level of customer service. Clear written and oral communication. Work collaboratively and also independently. A self-stater, but able to also receive direction when needed.
Familiarity with Recovery Alberta, including the configuration of clinical services in Calgary and area across the life span and the continuum of care.
