Are you a passionate, experienced, and driven Pharmacy Technician ready to make a real impact in healthcare? Alberta Health Services is looking for someone like you to join our dedicated team at Royal Alexandra Hospital (RAH) where your skills, compassion, and commitment will help shape the future of patient care in our community and surrounding areas. You will work to your full scope of practice in a dynamic and supportive environment. From sterile and non-sterile product preparation to final checks and problem-solving, your contributions will be essential to ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. Your key responsibilities include, drug preparation, repackaging, and final product checks, dispensing individual patient prescriptions and ward stock, supporting clinical care through problem-solving and discrepancy resolution, mentoring new staff and students through training and orientation, collaborating across disciplines to improve outcomes and processes. You will gain a breadth of experience while working with a dedicated, interdisciplinary team. Your strong communication skills both verbal and written alongside your interpersonal strengths, organizational abilities, and computer proficiency, will be vital in this role. Your continued proactive approach while building strong relationships and collaborating with all members of the healthcare team is paramount to the continued success of our team and culture. This is more than just a job, it’s an opportunity to grow, lead, and make a difference every day. The RAH Pharmacy operates 24/7. This position will include overnight shifts. Must be able to withstand long periods of sitting, standing and walking as this role requires daily IV room work and medication prep, dispensing, and packaging for delivery.
As a Pharmacy Technician I, you will be responsible for the preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical products. You will receive and triage medication orders, compound and repackage medication and prepare sterile and non-sterile pharmaceutical products.
Completion of a CCAPP-accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP) as a Pharmacy Technician.
As required.
Membership with a pharmacy professional organization is preferred. Hospital pharmacy and sterile compounding experience is preferred. Experience with Epic Willow is preferred.
