Reporting to the Registration, Switchboard and Patient Information (RSPI) and Data Collection Managers, Edmonton Zone, the Administrative Support V will have the opportunity to employ critical thinking and problem-solving skills to make key decisions impacting Registration, Switchboard and Patient Information and Data Collection within the Health Information Management (HIM) portfolios at Alberta Health Services (AHS). You will also have the ability to demonstrate your strong communication skills while exerting professionalism in all interactions with leadership, team members and stakeholders. The Administrative Support V will bring an excellent customer service orientation, ensuring a high degree of accuracy and ability to meet deadlines to be successful in this role. The Administrative Support V will be responsible for providing secretarial/ office support to the RSPI and Data Collection Teams, including but not limited to the following: Coordinate Manager/Supervisor's schedules, creating and distributing meeting agendas and minute taking. Placing supply orders. Preparing and handling confidential documentation/correspondence on behalf of management team. Assisting with the recruitment process by administering terminology and keyboard testing. Collect, collate, and complete specific monthly and ad hoc budget variance documentation. Gather and compile activity measurement statistics for budgetary and benchmarking purposes. The employee shall maintain confidentiality of all AHS’s information in accordance with Alberta Access and Privacy Legislations and shall always comply with AHS’s Information Privacy and Information Security policies.

As an Administrative Support V, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. certificate in office or business administration).

High School Diploma or recognized equivalent. Accurate typing speed of 60 wpm, testing will be administered. Post Secondary education in Secretarial or Office Administration or equivalent. Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

Two years related experience in an office setting. In addition, the incumbent will be expected to demonstrate proficiency in the following areas: Verbal and written English communication skills.
