Reporting to the Manager, Engine Operational Leases, this position is primarily responsible to support the sourcing and, management and redelivery of operational leases. Responsibilities will include liaison with internal and external stakeholders to complete documentation review and technical acceptance of engines, and coordination with planners and team leaders of all activities pertaining to engine and APU leases (e.g. lease engine acceptance and return activities).
Responsibilities:
- Lead the quality control process when sourcing operational leases such that the high standards of reliability and safety of Air Canada operations is assured and that non-financial risks to the business are identified and minimized.
- Manage the documentation review process of engine and APU between the vendor and internal stakeholders (Technical Records, Engineering, Regulatory Compliance) in support of operational lease activities.
- Work actively with vendors to resolve documentation and technical discrepancies to ensure the operational lease complies with both Air Canada and Transport Canada requirements.
- Manage the lease induction and return process once the lease agreement has been executed (e.g. loan order creation, support TRAX records build, lead induction/return meetings, resolve documentation discrepancies, prioritize SPP work, etc.)
- Define and communicate to the planners and team leader the work package required for the acceptance and lease return activities while ensuring such lease meet operational requirements and Transport Canada and Air Canada standards of airworthiness
- Be accountable that each lease is operated and maintained in compliance with its lease agreement contractual obligations during the term and until final redelivery.
- Develop and implement standard processes through the use of technical knowledge and continuous improvement tools to facilitate and expedite the sourcing operational leases.
- Perform on-site physical inspection of engines, accomplish part number validation, witness test cell performance run, and/or witness borescope inspection to confirm asset serviceability status and ensure vendor compliance with AC quality standards for engine maintenance.
- Liaise with internal and external resources as required to facilitate engine preparation and transportation in support of asset purchase/sales transactions.
- Prepare monthly lease engine utilization reports to be submitted to lessors.
- Maintain the departmental database/files of all executed contracts.
- Demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- A minimum 5 years of experience in commercial aircraft engine maintenance either in a shop, line, records or regulatory compliance environment.
- Experience working with IATA Master Short-Term Engine Lease Agreement or with records discrepancy management is an asset
- Familiar with a variety of the industry’s concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills particularly for building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Capable of relying on extensive experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals. Able to work with limited supervision.
- Capable of performing a variety of tasks
- Ability to travel outside of Canada and be on-site for short periods.
- Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team with minimal supervision and must have strong organizational skills with an aptitude to juggle priorities to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with MS Work, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
