Job Summary

The Management Trainee Specialist will support the centre operations by: assisting in the creation and execution of training/retention programs, support the development and maintenance of dispatch plans, provide leadership by coordinating the efforts of all employees toward continuous improvement and other emerging quality improvement initiatives as well as, develop and maintain programs that foster and enhance employee and customer relations. They will report to the business manager and be guided by the centre supervisor.

Major Responsibilities

  • Support the maintenance and development of safety and job training programs for all workgroups
  • Supporting training during New Service Provider Orientation, including in-class and non-productive training in the area of safety, service and delivery methods
  • Investigate and analyze injuries and auto accidents in order to develop safety programs which will foster safe work culture
  • Comply with all federally regulated health and safety and Labour Canada guidelines
  • Develop and enhance quality, service and production programs
  • Analyze employee and customer-related surveys, analyze specific indicators in order to continuously improve relationships
  • Develop and maintain current and special operating day dispatch plans
  • Report review and analysis daily operations reports
  • Develop initiatives to reduce overall centre costs and increase revenue and production
  • Audit and review all facets of service, production and customer concerns with service providers and management team
  • Implementing and executing retention strategies for all workgroups
  • Working directly with union and non-union employees

  • Degree/Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management or relevant area of study

Schedule of Training:

  • 30-days: Non-operations job rotation (BD, Security, HR, IE)
  • 120- days: Delivery Driver rotation
  • 30-days: Preload rotation
  • 30-days: Hub rotation


  • Full G Class License
  • 21 Years of Age
  • No Accidents in the last 3-years
  • No Moving Violations in the past 12-months
