Description
SUMMARY
The project supervisor and planner is responsible to coordinate job planning with the shop foreman, his highest priority is making sure he keeps on track with project schedule, costs and reports any delays or problems to his superior, and finding solutions to problems that can or have occurrent during the project. He can also help for delivering quotes to customers, finding solutions and new ideas for customers demands, and/or for our production floor improvement
TASK AND RESPONSABILITIES
- Project planning, must work hand in hand with the shop foreman, to plan the weeks schedule, and keep track of project performance levels. Optimisation of machine work is essential
- Responsible for the weekly production meeting, keeping notes and informing the Operations Manager about planned projects, and any delays or issues on project
- Responsible for planning project quotes, costing of jobs, and making sure that projects keep on track into production, costing wise and time wise
- Works with sales department on planning job deliveries, and with Management on improvement projects, and equipment investment
- Cost analysis on project, identification of issues during and after the project, and responsible to put corrective action plans into place
- Keep in good relation with the customer, and end user on projects
- Equipment maintenance planification, and keeping logs of maintenance done
- May visit customers, in conjunction with the sales department, or attend industry shows, and may also visit end users when problems occur or plant visits for quotes
- Responsible for presentation of R & D projects, costing of these projects, working in conjunction with the sales department on markets attainability
- In addition to these tasks, other tasks can be assigned, based on the requirements of the company.
QUALIFICATIONS
- College or University Degree in mechanical engineering, or a related domain, or other rich mix of equivalent experiences
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role
- This position requires potential travel to clients within North America
- Strong knowledge of mechanical seals
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Project
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Extensive knowledge of French and English (bilingual)
