Description

Job Description

The largest lake in Algonquin Park, Lake Opeongo is the home to Algonquin Outfitters' Opeongo Store and Water Taxi Service. It provides a gateway into Algonquin Park's backcountry. Every season we seek to hire people knowledgeable with Algonquin Park to work at this location as retail salespeople, rental and outfitting staff, canoe delivery drivers and water taxi drivers. Candidates who show that they are able to work in a team environment but also are responsible with a minimum amount of supervision will be successful.

The Lake Opeongo Store has several key positions available seasonally that include, retail clerks, rental and outfitting staff, canoe, kayak, and paddleboard delivery drivers and water taxi drivers. All positions are full-time seasonal with some opportunities running until November 1st. We can also provide staff accommodations if you should need them.

Canoe Rental / Delivery & Water Taxi Driver:
  • Be a physically fit individual capable of swimming
  • Possess Pleasure Craft Operators Card (Mandatory for Water Taxi Driver)
  • Possess SVOP and Med A3 marine training (Optional)
  • Complete standard first aid
  • Ability to lift 40-60 lbs overhead (loading canoes and kayaks)
  • Reliable (keep to a delivery schedule) and dependable
  • Perform rental counter operations
