Thomson Reuters is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to be part of a highly dynamic team developing our next generation Global Trade Management application suite.  

 

About the Role  

As a Sr. Software Engineer, you will:  

  • Design and Develop - complex software applications while using best practices and software development methodologies in coordination with a distributed team; contribute in all aspects of SDLC including design, development, testing, documentation, and implementation 

  • Be a Team Player - work in a collaborative team-oriented environment, share information, value diverse ideas, partner with cross-functional and remote teams 

  • Be Curious, Passionate & Innovative - leverage “innovation time” to work on pet projects and special areas of interest; reimagine our business for the customer’s benefit and measure success by customer satisfaction  

  • Be an Agile Person - with a strong sense of urgency and a desire to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment to deliver solutions against strict timelines 

  • Be an Effective Communicator - articulate complex technical issues, and share ideas, participate in peer reviews, and exhibit strong listening skills 

  • Be a Leader - lead code reviews, enforce code standards and provide constructive feedback to developers; mentor technical resources on the team to reinforce best practices 

  • Take Ownership - responsible for performance, reliability and implement changes for improving the efficiency of a technical component  

 

About You 

You’re a fit for the role of Sr. Software Engineer if you have:  

 

Basic qualifications: 

  • 5 to 7 years of experience developing software using different programming languages .NET development (C#, VB.net)  

  • Proficiency with responsive web front end/single page application development using modular JavaScript (Angular, React.js, CSS3, HTML5)  

  • Proficiency in developing/consuming REST APIs including tooling for documentation (Swagger/Postman)  

  • Experience in developing data persistence systems using both SQL and NoSQL DBMS  

  • SaaS-based software development experience on large to enterprise-class applications

Preferred qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience  

  • Understand object-oriented program design, algorithms, data structure, CS fundamentals, design patterns, and N-Tier architecture.  

  • Familiarity with application security and Application Performance Management  

  • Experience with Kibana, PowerBI, Tableau or Quicksight  

  • Experience with JMeter, Selenium, or LoadRunner automation testing  

  • AWS Cloud development experience a plus  

  • Familiarity with Data Science: Machine Learning / Artificial Intelligence
