We are currently seeking a highly motivated Cloud Infrastructure Engineer within our Infrastructure Hosting and Networks (IHN) team. In this role, you will collaborate with technology peers and business partners to build and deploy the foundation for the next generation of modern cloud-native software applications and services for Thomson Reuters. As part of the Infrastructure Hosting and Networks organization, you will be part of a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, energetic, and high-performing team at the heart of the Thomson Reuters transformation to developing cloud-native applications and services focusing on cloud landing zone services. This group is nimble and creative and will shape our technology roadmap. This role will be instrumental to enable the current and future world of cloud computing at Thomson Reuters. You will be challenged with identifying innovative ideas and proof of concepts to deliver against the existing and future needs of our customers.
About the Role
In this opportunity as an Cloud Infrastructure Engineer- Oracle , you will:
Develop and Deliver: Developing and refining solutions and services for Cloud Landing zones, working with all cloud providers and their landing zone services, tools, and solutions while building cloud-native applications and scripting for infrastructure continuous build and delivery automation
Be a Team Player: Work in a highly collaborative and dynamic matrix agile team environment with multiple levels of technical staff across various geographical locations
Be an Agile Person: Ensure consistency with cloud architectural guiding principles for assigned projects; anticipate needs and implications of decisions, proactively working to identify, clarify, and resolve issues, and removing barriers within and outside the organization promptly
Be Innovative: Keep up to date with emerging cloud technology trends - open source and cloud vendors such as OCI (nice to have Amazon, Azure, and Google Cloud knowledge)
Be a Problem solver: Articulate complex problems, concepts, and solutions through formal and informal means to global technical and non-technical audiences
Be a thought leader: Act as an influencer in cloud-native development best practices, which includes continuous delivery, security, infrastructure as a code, automation, immutable infrastructure, and service discovery
Take ownership: Apply principles of trust, transparency, accountability, and ownership
You’re a fit for the role of an Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Engineer if you have:
2-4 years experience working in cloud vendors such as Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) , Amazon, Azure, and/or Google Cloud and Cloud Landing zones
Experience with Terraform, Ansible, and Python scripting
Experience building cloud-native applications and services following cloud-native architecture methodologies running in the public cloud
Experience in any one of these scripting languages - Perl or UNIX/Shell
Comfortable working in Windows and Unix/Linux environments
Knowledge of best practices through a consultative approach: Customer-first mindset
Outgoing innovator investigating new technologies and suggesting technology and/or process improvements
Nice to Have:
Certifications in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) professional, AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
