We are seeking an architect who specializes in designing and building solutions in Azure. You will be working with several development teams building, enhancing, and expanding our Legal Financial & Practice Management product suite.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:
Use your innovation, technical expertise, leadership, and collaboration skills to play a critical role in shaping Thomson Reuters next generation, cloud-based financial and practice management system architecture. You will play an important technical leadership role in collaborating with others to set architecture direction. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with others to create software architecture designs that include architecture concerns such as security, authentication, configuration, system telemetry, availability, scalability, disaster recovery, resiliency, data processing latency, infrastructure as code, idempotency, cost and more.
We are looking for a highly motivated person who knows what excellent software looks like and knows how to deliver that.
About the Role
As an Associate Architect you will:
Design and Deliver:
Provide thought leadership and influence on the application of cloud technologies and approaches related to data engineering
Collaborate with architects, managers, product managers, and engineers to establish architecture direction
Be curious and innovative:
Keep abreast of new technology, including implementation of proof of concepts to understand approaches and technologies
Mentor and coach:
Mentor engineers in robust design, influence, and leadership
B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar
5+ years experience in software development and architecture. Experience with distributed systems patterns including microservices and asynchronous, message-based communication
Expert knowledge of Azure cloud and cloud-native design
Expert knowledge of .NET including C#, ASP.NET, API development, .NET Core
Experience with relational database technologies especially Microsoft SQL Server
Experience with NoSQL technologies especially CosmosDB, Redis, and Graph technology
Proven ability to incorporate architecture aspects such as security, scalability, flexibility, portability, maintainability, cost, operability, availability, and disaster recovery into designs
Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and analyze new technologies
Experience in designing large-scale and complex systems
Ability to work creatively and analytically in problem solving
Proven ability to be a team player possessing strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills
Experience with data reporting and visualization technologies such as Power BI
Experience with data processing technologies like Azure Data Warehouse
Experience with ERP and financial applications
Experience migrating from monolith to distributed architectures
Experience with containers and Azure AKS
Experience with serverless architectures such as Azure Functions
Experience architecting API-first solutions
Experience with system load and scale testing
Experience with TDD
