The Credit and Collections team is a dynamic group whose strategies impact revenue and earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) growth across the wireless and wireline business lines. We have strong focus on customer experience while we consistently drive to have lowest involuntary churn and bad debt in the market.

Here’s the impact you’ll make and what we’ll accomplish together

As Manager - Market Intelligence - Credit & Collections, you will be responsible for managing our Bad Debt & Involuntary Churn portfolio for all major brands (WLS Telus, WLS Koodo & FFH).

Along with forecasting and reporting responsibilities, you will be responsible for providing our strategy teams with the analytical information that enables them to test, monitor, and develop new credit and collection strategies.

As a liaison between our strategy and P&L results, you will be required to build strong relationships with several stakeholders across finance, marketing and operations. While working closely with many cross-functional teams, you will understand various strategies at a detailed level and be able to provide a simplified explanation of their impacts to Involuntary Churn and Bad Debt.

Reporting to the Director - Credit & Collections, you will lead a team of Market Intelligence Analysts and support them in the delivery of their respective portfolios. You will also help drive our continuous improvement portfolio; understanding and keeping up-to-date on the latest metrics to identify opportunities, drive them to market and measure results.

  • Involuntary Churn and Bad Debt forecasting, reporting and variance explanation - monthly triages, Strat Checks and Budget for all major brands (Telus, Koodo, Home Solutions and Home Security Solutions)
  • Encouraging a culture that promotes continuous improvement - uncovering opportunities, presenting to extended C&C teams, gaining buy-in and driving implementation
  • Working closely with strategy peers to understand their analytic requests while actively ensuring all in-flight and future initiatives are supported from a metric and business case perspective

  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft (MS) Excel, PowerPoint & Word
  • Strong analytical, strategic and math skills are assets
  • Analytical aptitude: Strong knowledge and/or ability to lead your team to utilize the best forecasting / modeling / analytical approach and methods for any business problem
  • Presentation skills: Building presentations & delivering material
  • Business acumen: Ability to understand projects/issues and perform complex business analysis to support
  • Strong interpersonal skills & proven ability to build relationships
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to effectively problem-solve and deal with complex project issues
  • Ability to anticipate and assess risks, contingency plans and manage change in a complex environment
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, coach, set goals and provide feedback to develop team members
  • Ability to work effectively with various levels of management and cross-functional teams
