Job Description

The ideal candidate will demonstrate high proficiency with data analysis and interpretation, and support a wide array of pan-Wealth strategic analyses and initiatives.

The Data Scientist provides analytical and strategic support for our business leaders by identifying, sizing and analyzing actionable revenue opportunities to support business growth and help achieve our business objectives.

The Data Scientist will work closely with the business on analytical projects and use cases to help the businesses make more informed decisions on key business challenges including sales performance, productivity, client satisfaction, risk mitigation and new revenue generating ideas.

Requirements

Provide analytical thought leadership in the application of data science to drive innovation and business value for TD Wealth

o Work in a highly interactive & collaborative team with business SMEs, coders, developers, engineers, modelers and third parties to take PoCs & use cases from concept to production
o Work closely with business leaders to identify actionable opportunities and serve as an ambassador for data science
o Ability to assess business need and determine the appropriate analytical approach, model, ML algorithm, statistical model etc. to most optimally address the business challenge or hypothesis
o Knowledge of Python and/or R & their various libraries for the development of models, algorithms and ML both supervised (e.g. Bayesian statistics) and unsupervised (e.g. cluster analysis)
o Experience with collaboration tools such as Jupyter (IPython) Notebook, Bitbucket
o Experience with fast/ rapid prototyping
Experience with large data sets
• Experience with complex, unclean and unstructured data (i.e. missing data, repeated measures etc.)
• Significant experience working in Big Data Analytical environments/technologies (Hadoop, HIVE, Spark etc), with a deep understanding of data mining and analytical techniques.
Oral & Written communication skills
• Able to understand and conceptually grasp the business need to inform analysis
• Able to distill most impactful business relevant results, summarize the analysis, and convey the model output, findings, insights and implications to an executive audience

Additional Information

Education - Doctorate in relevant discipline such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics etc. is preferred
Masters degree in a relevant field with min 3-5 years experience
