Job Description:

Temporary: 12 months

We are looking for talented candidates to join our National Disability Support team at Sun Life Financial. Our ideal candidate has a desire to learn and embrace challenge and change. National Disability Support is a global team within Disability Shared Services, responsible for providing quality, timely services to both our external and internal clients (Sun Life Disability Offices) by managing incoming claim documents, setting up new claims and performing various administrative duties in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. We serve Group Disability offices from coast to coast in Halifax, Montreal, Toronto, Waterloo, Calgary, Edmonton, and Vancouver, and our Group Life team in Montreal.

Our purpose is to help our clients achieve lifetime security and live healthier lives. As a National Disability Support role, you will contribute to the service and fiscal responsibility to our Plan Sponsors and Plan Members. This means we are ensuring income replacement in case of a health event and we are managing all Disability client claims efficiently and effectively using sound and fair practices aligned with our philosophy and approach to Health Management.

Role responsibilities:

  • Indexing of incoming Disability documents received through various channels (email, fax, web, mobile, etc.)

  • Setup of new claims on our Disability systems

  • Perform various other administrative tasks such as plan member information updates, mailing of Life and Disability cheques and other letters, outreach to Plan Sponsors via phone and written correspondence to follow up for missing forms, etc.

  • Ensure a thorough review of the documents handled in order to produce a high quality work within the expected handling time

  • Manage incoming volumes and engage in team effort to maintain service standards on a daily basis in order to meet client expectations

  • Look for Continuous Improvement Ideas using process excellence methodology to improve performance, quality and productivity

  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures, external regulations and information security standards

  • Establish internal business relationships to facilitate execution of work and provide a seamless customer experience.
