Your Opportunity

As an Environmental Site Assessor, you will be part of our Environmental Site Investigation, Remediation and Risk Assessment practice in Ontario. We are seeking an exceptionally talented and enthusiastic individual, capable of working independently, with a keen interest in environmental site assessment to join our team and advance their career in our Ottawa office. As a key member of the team, the successful candidate will be involved in a broad range of responsibilities relating to expanding business opportunities in our commercial sector with a focus on brownfield redevelopment and insurance projects, along with supporting large infrastructure projects throughout the City of Ottawa and across Ontario.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Manage environmental site assessment programs including: Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, remediation programs, and hydrogeological investigations;

  • Develop relationships with key clients to further expand business opportunities;

  • Collaborate with account teams and lead business development initiatives;

  • Mentor junior staff to learn and follow standard operation procedures for work assigned, while continuing to develop skills;

  • Demonstrate ability to analyze field and technical data, and draft technical reports;

  • Carry-out office duties such as data management, analysis and interpretation, report preparation, proposal preparation, and general project management tasks;

  • Evening and weekend work may be required; and

  • Occasional travel may be required.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Interest in business development activities and experience managing and developing client relationships

  • Ability to work collaboratively with other science and engineering disciplines to develop creative solutions for our clients

  • Initiative to integrate creativity and innovation in all work tasks

  • Strong time management and organization skills to support independent work

  • Thorough understanding of applicable provincial and federal environmental regulations and guidelines

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Good driving record and valid driver’s license

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geoscience, Engineering, or similar discipline

10 years of applicable experience in conducting field programs for environmental site assessment and/or remediation projects

Project coordination/ management experience

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
