As a Mechanical Engineer - Products and Equipment, you’ll be responsible for projects from start to finish: from selecting materials to implementing the concepts you’ve created. Your role? Take charge, coordinate, and manage each step with precision, while offering your technical expertise to improve our practices. Whether through research, calculations, or advising teams, you’ll be at the heart of our innovations and our commitment to excellence.


In this role, you will:

  • Design, model, and develop mechanical parts, assemblies, or equipment using CAD software (e.g., SolidEdge)

  • Recommend and improve manufacturing processes

  • Implement new production methods and technologies

  • Collaborate with production, maintenance, quality, and project teams to assess needs and propose sustainable technical solutions

  • Perform technical and economic feasibility studies (cost studies, profitability analysis, return on investment)

  • Carry out testing, validate prototypes, oversee commissioning, and write technical documentation

  • Participate in engineering project management, from planning to implementation

  • Monitor technological developments and recommend new practices or innovations

  • Apply relevant standards (CSA, ASME, ISO, etc.) as well as health, safety, and sustainability principles throughout all phases of the project

Profile

With the following skills and qualities, you'll be successful in this role:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and member of the Order of Engineers
  • 7 years' experience in manufacturing (machining, welding, assembly, etc.)
  • Reading and interpreting complex mechanical drawings

  • Machining experience
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software (Solidedge.)
  • Ability to perform strength of materials and kinematics calculations
