Intermediate QA Analyst perform web, mobile and API testing using tools like Appium or Playwright with one of our major banking clients- 38936

Location Address: Toronto/ Hybrid - 3 days in office (Wednesdays/Thursdays at 333 King, 3rd day is location flexible could go to Mississauga, Scarborough or downtown office)

Contract Duration: 6 months (Possibility of extension)

Schedule Hours: 9am-5pm Monday-Friday; standard 37.5 hrs/week

Story Behind the Need

Business group: Client Engineering - Mobile and Web- focusing on Mobile Banking application to all Bank customers.

Project: New Projects - Online banking and Mobile applications - digital onboarding

Typical Day in Role:

- 50% manual and 50% automation testing

- Will be working in GitHub CoPilot which will be integrated with an internal platform so will be using AI in the role

- Stand-up Meeting, Sprint planning, test scheduling and test execution

- Testing as per the Acceptance criteria defined in user stories

- iOS / Android App installation using XCode / Android Studio

- Validation of client side and server-side error messages, requests / responses through Charles Proxy

- Create Test Strategy, come up with Test Device Matrix and review with program team

- Execute test scenarios, scripts, or procedures

- Exploratory Testing, Backward compatibility testing

- Test system modifications to prepare for implementation

- Validation of API endpoints using Dynatrace

- Develop testing programs that addresses areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, or usability Document software defects, using a bug tracking system, and report defects to software developers

- Identify, analyze, and document problems with program function, output, online screen, or content

- Monitor bug resolution efforts and track successes

- Create or maintain databases of known test defects

- Plan test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope or delivery dates

Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:

1) 5+ years of experience in QA with a strong focus on test automation for native mobile apps, web applications, and APIs.

2) 2+ years of hands-on experience with Playwright or Appium

3) Strong experience in API automation using tools like Charles Proxy and Postman, with a focus on error handling and validation.

4) Coding experience in Python and/or JavaScript for test automation.

5) Experience with accessibility standards (AODA, WCAG 2.0/2.1) and testing techniques.

Nice-To-Have Skills:

1) Recent relevant Banking Industry Experience

2) Familiarity with AI-powered testing tools and cloud-based testing platforms.

3) French testing experience (to validate via Confluence pages)

4) Experience with Xcode, Android Studio, and mobile debugging tools.

Education:

- Associate degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field

- ISTQB certification an asset

Best VS. Average Candidate:

- Does not need very senior profiles like 10+ years, and as the model is Agile there is not as much Lead opportunity so really looking for hands-on resource so not looking for more than 10 years

- Recent experience testing Mobile and Web Applications - iOS & Android

Web and mobile - need resources who can do both as they will be in a resource pool to be pulled into projects

- Test automation focus

- Experience writing test documentation such as Test Plans/Test Strategy, scripts and test results reports

- Ability to analyze/interpret test results and provide recommendations to improve testing

Screening questions: What mobile apps have you tested in recent projects? How to install mobile apps on devices iOS and Android? Every organization uses their own tools (apple configurator, android file transfer)

1 technical panel IV with the team- 1 hour - in person at 333 King - interviews Monday Dec 15th Tuesday Dec 16th and Wednesday Dec 17th

HM will provide computer for technical test during interview

- Technical Questions: Will be directly asking questions based on the resume / skillset in the job description; write some test scenarios

- Technical test component - solutioning 1-2 coding problems live during the interview - Python or JavaScript - primarily to test automation script
