Our client, a natural resources provider, with a head office in downtown Toronto is currently seeking an Intermediate Project Manager with a strong background in Networks and Infrastructure - to create check in kiosks across 50 independent site locations.

Project Manager duties and responsibilities:
  • Analyze work packages included in the scope of the projects.
  • Complete analysis of work packages containing various server hardware and software versions, and analyzes the ecosystems of applications, integrations and database dependencies within the servers.
  • Adhere to project methodology standards, while at the same time promoting compliance with company-wide and local IT department policies and procedures, and architecture standards.
  • Identify the dependencies in migration of these work packages to target Windows Server Operating System and target SQL Server versions and latest supported versions of application related software components
  • Maintain the schedule on all work packages leading to the solution, delivery, assurance, certification and acceptance of key work packages (or key deliverables), including assisting in the post-project QA review and the transition to steady-state support.
  • Analyze and update Work Breakdown Structures as appropriate, in order to meet changing needs and requirements, and uses these in the creation, revision and execution of project work plans.
  • Report daily activities on the work packages and updates
  • Organize the go live conferences and schedules the go live meetings and conference calls within the reviewed go live plan
  • Prepare go live sheets and communicates any changes in schedule to the entire team
  • Manage day-to-day operational aspects of a work package, including the management of risks and issues, and identifies those risks and issues.
  • Track daily tasks for other team members in the project action tracker. Provides status updates to team members on the status of tasks. Follow up with team members and vendors to complete the task on the scheduled date and in accordance with the project timeline.
  • Maintain the program scope tracking server inventory. Tracks server decommissions from beginning to end of the process.
  • Accurate tracking of the full server cycle from refresh to de-installation, working with 3rd party support vendors.
  • Proactively assists other team members with finding solutions for complex tasks, escalates issues and risks.
  • Submit and track security requests for approvals and implementation on administrative accesses to servers.
  • Keeps up to date records on the submitted requests, and status of each request in the queue.
  • Provides updates to the teams on the estimated timelines to complete each request.
  • Define scope and content of all project deliverables and milestones.
  • Ensure these deliverables are created, reviewed and executed according to the approval, the project work plan, and internal quality processes.
