Salary Range: $59,711 to $109,520 (range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance to the collective agreement)

Effective Date: Immediately, until not later than June 30, 2026 (or return of the teacher)

Required Abilities, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Extensive academic training, professional preparation, and qualifications in teaching in all areas of this assignment.
  • Knowledge of, and demonstrated application of, the Ministry of Education's current philosophy, teaching practices, and evaluation/assessment/reporting procedures as applied to all areas of this assignment.
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to implement teaching practices that align with the Professional Standards for BC Educators.
  • demonstrated ability and successful experience in teaching FraL 9, and Sciences Humaines 9
  • demonstrated high level use of the French language
  • demonstrated outstanding written language skills in French
  • demonstrated understanding of the relationship between the French language and culture
  • demonstrated knowledge and willingness to work cooperatively in planning an integrated approach to teaching languages
  • demonstrated willingness to explore and implement concepts from the new curriculum including awareness of and experience working with the First Peoples Principles of Learning
  • demonstrated ability to recognize and acknowledge individual student differences and to adjust instructional practices accordingly
  • demonstrated ability to devise and use a variety of assessment processes, including competency based assessments, that effectively allow students to demonstrate their learning
  • demonstrated ability to consistently incorporate a wide range of effective classroom management strategies that maintain the dignity of students with an emphasis on a proactive approach
  • demonstrated experience in and knowledge of methods for evaluating and selecting instructional materials suitable for students with a variety of learning abilities and implementing strategies for adapting curriculum
