What will you do?

  • Learn and grow as an important part of a team that cares about Reliance and its customers.
  • Coordinating and facilitating quarterly inventory counts and ensuring that inventory write-offs achieve annual targets
  • Managing the central safety stock and facilitating internal shipments
  • Working with our 3PL partners to ensure service levels are met
  • Engage Operations teams to understand inventory management gaps and implement sustainable corrective actions
  • Be an ambassador for continuous improvement both internally and with Operations teams
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with branches, suppliers and other partners
  • Develop reporting and audit mechanisms to monitor Operations adherence to inventory management practices
  • Develop standard operating procedures, process documentation and training for inventory management
  • Coach and develop Supply Chain team members, ensure cross functional coverage/knowledge within Supply Chain team
  • Understand and participate in the development and deployment of Supply Chain and materials strategies
  • Define and Improve Inventory Projection and Management Strategies, collaborate and coach the Branch Operation teams
  • Analyze current processes and identify opportunities to improve Inventory position within Branch and 3PL sites
  • Collaborate with Operations Team to develop Inventory strategies that improve Reliance’s performance and service levels to meet the customer’s needs
  • Drive and lead Data Integrity and Parameters Strategies to ensure correct data is in the system to drive the requirements as needed
  • Effectively drive change in processes when required, communicate and collaborate with Branch operations teams
  • Coach and mentor team members to deliver excellence to every internal and external customer
  • Provide support to planning and inventory teams in the Branches
  • Drive teams to reduce Inventory, Improve throughput and Delivery Performance
  • Identify team needs, collaborate with IT to create required tools
  • Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.
  • Recommend process and supply chain initiatives to lower inventory costs
  • Manage and oversee the warranty claim process which includes but is not limited to:
    • Submitting and following up on claims to vendors
    • Coaching reliance team members on process and best practices
    • Developing reporting to support field operations
    • Weekly and Monthly reporting of Warranty metrics
    • Maintaining and approval of Warranty claims against budget.

What do you bring?

  • 3-5 years Supply Chain experience & people management experience
  • University Degree or College Diploma
  • Leadership ability particularly in the areas of achieving outcomes through others, developing and maintaining positive working relationships, clarifying expectations and seeking understanding, and taking ownership and accountability for own and teams’ performance
  • Ability to work within a team environment (as part of a team) and lead a team as demonstrated through previous work experience
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities/projects simultaneously, ability to be dynamic
  • Proven customer service skills
  • Active in presenting recommendations in a persuasive, professional and impactful way
  • Proven strong organizational, time management, and project management skills
  • Computer proficiency in related system applications (MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Project Planning Tools)
