Location: Chalk River, ON - Remote

Type of Employment: Contract

Role & Responsibilities:

\t
• Identify and communicate all discrepancies concerning transaction confirmations to Operations. Track discrepancies until resolved.

\t
• Make recommendations for system/process enhancements to improve performance in the Risk Control area and test system changes.

\t
• Evaluate exception requests and risk-related contractual issues.

\t
• Perform ad-hoc analysis related to risk issues.

\t
• Collaborate effectively with Commercial, Legal, IT, and Operations teams to evaluate requests in a timely manner.

\t
• Leverage problem solving, data manipulation, and analytical skills to address specific business requests.

\t
• Work closely with risk analysts and senior management to analyze, value and provide risk analysis around complex issues, including power generation, load contracts, complex derivatives, hedging strategies.

\t
• Monitor adherence to the risk policy, assist in investigation of any issues, and update any policy and/or product revisions.

\t
• Perform regular monitoring and maintenance of Risk system access control processes.

\t
• Partner with other business units and/or departments to identify and facilitate business process improvements.

\t
• Assist with special projects as needed.

Qualifications / Requirements:

\t
• Bachelor’s degree is required.

\t
• High degree of computer literacy.

\t
• Must have strong understanding of Risk variables on a major capital project in multi-billion-dollar range, prefer nuclear.

\t
• Ability to plan/manage multiple priorities and committed to meet demanding deadlines in a demanding environment and work overtime when required. Works well in a team environment.

• Attention to detail and critical thinking skills.

\t
• Adapts effectively to new and changing environments.

\t
• Proficient in effectively communicating to a wide range of audiences in both written and oral form.

\t
• 8+ PMI Risk Professional.
