Description
Position: Laser Operator - $19-$22/HR (if probationary period has been completed)
- The Operator will prepare, inspect and process finished products from the production area to be packaged for distribution
Reports To: Lead Hand/Plant Manager
Responsibilities:
- The Operator will produce sheet metal parts operating the Amada Laser-Turret equipment
- Read and interpret work orders in order to machine parts in accordance with production protocol and program requirements.
- Ensure safety procedures are adhered to for each piece of equipment being worked with as well as all appropriate Personal Protective Equipment and guards are used and in place
- Maintain a clean and clear of hazards work area, to include the Amada Laser equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Technical Skills/Requirements:
- High School Diploma.
- Must be able to read, write, communicate and comprehend English.
- Must be computer literate with sound knowledge of data base software.
- Able to read and interpret imperial measurements.
- Able to operate punch press, rivet machines, drill press and saws
- Decision making skills in a fast paced environment with good organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Have working knowledge of air tools, power saws, staple guns and strapping equipment.
- Physically demanding; requires lifting capability of up to 50 lbs
Equipment Requirements:
- Punch Press/Rivet Gun/Band Saw/Drill Press/Drill & Various Hand Tools/Laser-Turret machine
- Able to work independently and with a team.
- Be punctual for shifts.
Working Environment:
- Requires the ability to exert physical effort and must be able to work within a fast paced environment.
- Able to work independently and with a team.
- Regular Attendance and punctual for shifts is necessary.
