Your job:
- Develop strategic initiatives (e.g., Commercial Banking Compliance Plan) and act as a sector resource for compliance and regulatory changes affecting commercial banking services.
- Manage the Commercial Banking team responsible for orchestration, communications and mitigation plans for crises and incidents (e.g., strikes, natural disasters, economic and geopolitical events, and it incidents) across Canada and for specific sectors.
- Operationalise delegated compliance responsibilities for the commercial Banking sector.
More specifically, you will:
- Acquire an in-depth understanding of regulatory changes and develop the sector's compliance action plan.
- Analyse and anticipate compliance and regulatory issues, assess their impact on the Bank and develop innovative solutions for ommercial banking services.
- Serve as the main point of contact for our sector during audits and visits by regulators.
- Oversee operational processes related to compliance and regulatory requirements (e.g., KYC, due diligence, control library, restricted sectors and high-risk clients, complaint management, ESG positioning) and participate in cross-sector initiatives and governance.
- Create and update sector business positionnings in accordance with regulatory requirements, in collaboration with internal and external partners (e.g., Legal Affairs, second and third lines of defence, Public Affairs).
- Help design and monitor controls (e.g., quality assurance) based on key risks and performance indicators, and create action plans, as applicable.
- Support the team in managing risk events and relay them to senior management.
- Contribute to the cross-sector competency development strategy for the Commercial Banking Operational Risk group.

You will report to the Senior Manager - Commercial Banking Operational Risk, and manage two professionals. Our team stands out for its expertise and the diversity of its interventions across the Commercial Banking sector. We collaborate with a multitude of partners and intervene in all aspects of non-financial risk.

Prerequisites:
- A completed bachelor’s degree in a related field and 7 to 10 years of relevant experience or a completed master’s degree in a related field and 6 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in regulatory compliance, particularly with PCMLTF and FCAC rules.
- In-depth knowledge of the Commercial Banking sector.
- Experience as a lawyer or legal professional (a strong asset).
- Proven leadership/influence in an advisory role with partners.
