Description
A career as a Senior Analyst on the Capital Markets and Subsidiaries accounting sector at National Bank means being responsible for the proper accounting of National Bank's corporate operations and the integrity of its financial and regulatory reports. You will prepare and analyse various internal and external financial and regulatory reports and participate in annual audits and regulatory reviews. You will also produce various internal reports distributed to Operations and senior management at the New York branch.
Your role
- Participate in monthly financial close: prepare journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Analyze and review assigned accounts, identify variances, and ensure proper follow-up
- Prepare monthly financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP and compile quarterly data for the parent company
- Produce regulatory reports for the Federal Reserve and the New York State Department of Financial Services on a weekly, monthly, or quarterly basis
- Maintain and update team procedures and internal reports for branch management
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues promptly
- Participate in regulatory audits and internal reviews
- Prepare supporting documents for annual U.S. tax filings
- Contribute to ad hoc analyses, special projects, and process improvements to enhance efficiency and controls

You are part of a team of 3 colleagues in the Capital Markets and subsidiaries sector and you will report to the Senior Advisor. Our team stands out for its expertise, quality delivery, fun atmosphere and great collaboration. Our team is responsible for all financial and regulatory reports for the Bank's New York branch. The branch is mainly used for liquidity and financing purposes by the Bank, and offers commercial and commercial banking services to its institutional clients.

Prerequisites
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting and at least 4 years of relevant experience in the financial services sector
- Chartered Professional Accountant designation (CPA) or equivalent qualification in the United States required
- Knowledge of U.S. GAAP, an asset
- Solid analytical and organisational skills, problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong initiative and teamwork skills
- Ability to meet tight deadlines
- Excellent knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables and macros
