This position is based in Toronto.  The Regional Sales Associate (inside Sales) reports to the Senior Manager, Internal Sales: National Bank Investments.

Working in partnership with a Regional Director (Outside Wholesaler) and a Sales Coordinator, the Regional Sales Associate (Inside Sales) proactively positions and sells mutual funds to Investment Advisors and Financial Planners throughout the IIROC and MFDA channels. Through business development activities, the Regional Sales Associate cultivates and maintains relationships with Advisors.

Specifically, you will:

  • Make proactive business development phone calls, according to activity targets, to financial advisors in order to present investment solutions that meet the varied needs of their clients

  • Actively participate in the business development of the territory in order to meet business development objectives

  • Develop a segmentation and communication strategy with the Regional Director

  • Develop business development concepts and presentations

  • Participate in national business development campaigns

  • Ensure high-quality client service

  • Participate in training sessions to remain an effective resource person in terms of both products and the market in general

  • Work as a team with other sales associates and sales managers in order to share ideas and referrals, and with other internal partners

  • Some travel may be required during certain instances

  • The candidate needs to be able to identify all risks inherent to the Wealth Management sector’s activities.

  • University degree; business or finance major preferred

  • Completed the CSC (or completion required within 6 months of hiring)

  • CFA, CFP, CIM or other appropriate industry designation is an asset

  • Energy, discipline and a self-starting/proactive mindset is essential to achieve results

  • Be coachable, energetic and demonstrate a willingness to learn on a daily basis

  • Business development experience is a strong asset

  • Excellent knowledge of financial markets and how investment solutions react accordingly

  • Strong listening and communication skills with the ability to simplify complicated financial concepts

  • Ability to build credibility and rapport with clients over the phone

  • English spoken and written
