Join the momentum. We are seeking a Manager of Risk Analytics for our growing Enterprise Risk Management and Technology Solutions teams. Protecting businesses’ best interests, MNP is a leading national accounting, tax and business consulting firm in Canada. MNP’s analytically intense internal audit and risk projects are continuously requiring more data analytic support. MNP is seeking a Program Leader to provide risk analytics services and valuable insight through data analytics to all ranges of client maturity and industries in Canada.

 

YOUR ROLE @ MNP

Performance Expectations

  • Advise and support the National Internal Audit Services Leader in building the Risk Analytics practice by providing technical and analytical direction and know-how
  • Coordinate a team of risk analytic practitioners across Canada to deliver a wide range of risk analytic services to meet or exceed client expectations. This team will need continuous guidance on business development strategy, standard methodology, leading practices, and training opportunities
  • Provide executional capability in gathering, merging, cleansing, manipulating and applying statistical techniques to data to drive anomaly detection, predictive modelling and other insight
  • Lead in the development of standard methodology for completing a complex menu of risk analytics, especially required for Internal Audits (From data collection, to running analytic scripts, to delivering valuable decision support insight)
  • Liaise with Tech. Solutions to advise on a data and analytics platform on which to standardise the delivery of services
  • Directing the automation of standard analytical procedures (data extraction, analysis, visualization, reporting and output monitoring), on an as needed basis
  • Develop ideas, frameworks, capability and artifacts etc. that permit the efficient replication of services
  • Advise and execute on the most efficient and effective ways in which insight and key findings from the data can be communicated to stakeholders
  • Conducting client meetings and data gathering activities to ensure a sound understanding of clients’ business needs, processes and potential measurements to aid in the identification of the analytical approach. Identifying ways to maximize the relationship with clients and deliver added value.
  • Understanding client needs and processes, where data resides and what it means, and working to identify and obtain data that is relevant, useful and has integrity
  • Monitor project timelines against targets, adjust where necessary; advise clients of project status
  • Collecting, cleaning, analyzing, testing, and interpreting relevant data
  • Documenting information, analytics processes and results obtained in a clear and concise manner
  • Support the Internal Audit Services Leader in pre-sales and other business development activity
  • Network and take a leadership role in the local professional, business, and community while raising awareness of MNP and looking for new business development opportunities
  • Contribute to the preparation and delivery of competitive proposals to meet client needs
  • Research and advise the Program Leader on emerging technical trends, ideas etc. that can be applied to audit/risk analytics and further differentiate MNP services
  • Continually building partnerships with various business areas and team members throughout MNP
  • Day-to-day management of projects and initiatives (i.e. oversight, documentation, progress report)
  • Recruit, manage and train additional risk analytic data professionals as needed
  • Promote regular attendance, balanced lifestyle and high standard of team wellness
  • Attend internal MNP courses to further develop knowledge around performance improvement
  • Some travel may be required

 

Credentials

  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Accounting, Business, Finance, Engineering, MIS or related fields of expertise, or equivalent experience
  • Seven (7) to ten (10) years of experience with risk analytics
  • A blend of business and technical skills with an affinity and interest in learning more about internal audit and risk analytics and how technology and data can be leveraged to improve outcomes
  • A background in BI with hands-on experience with large datasets and ETL techniques - preferably in financial, general ledger or related data domains
  • Experience in statistical data modelling (distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc.) anomaly detection and data mining expertise
  • An ability and interest in learning more advanced AI/ML techniques
  • Experience and expertise with data visualization tools for example: ACL, IDEA, Alteryx, PowerBI and Tableau. Experience with SPSS, SAS and Informatica would be an asset
  • An understanding of technology platforms and their data, analytic and information delivery capabilities
  • Solid understanding of databases structures
  • Experience in combining data virtualization principles with storytelling
  • Motivated, creative, self-sufficient with good communication, interpersonal and team skills
  • Ability to influence, negotiate and communicate with both internal and external customers is strongly preferred
  • Experience with at least one language such as SQL, R, Python and MatLab
  • Strong communication, presentation, business and technical writing skills
  • Working experience in audit internal controls, consulting, IT or risk management fields are highly preferred
  • Experience with Accounting systems (SAP, JDE, Oracle, Sage50) is preferred
  • Awareness of emerging issues, including regulations, industry practices and new technologies
